Remnant: From the Ashes gets free PS5, Xbox Series X upgrade
Remnant: From the Ashes, Gunfire Games’ survival/action shooter from 2019, gets a free patch next week that upgrades the game’s resolution and frame rate on the newest consoles.
The title update coming May 13 means PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X owners can play Remnant: From the Ashes at 4K resolution and 30 frames per second, or 1080p resolution and 60 frames per second. Xbox Series S owners get only the 1080p/60fps option.
Also on May 13, Remnant From the Ashes is available on Xbox Game Pass for PC (as well as the Xbox and Microsoft Store apps for Windows 10). These PC versions of the game have cross-play support with Xbox One and Xbox Series X players.
Remnant: From the Ashes was one of our 50 best games of 2019. The game received two DLC expansions in April and August of 2020. In March of this year, Remnant: From the Ashes was offered to PlayStation Plus subscribers in March as one of that month’s Instant Game Collection titles.
Commonly described as “Dark Souls with guns,” the challenging, combat-intensive third-person shooter also supports co-operative play through the game’s narrative.
