The Sabrina, the Teenage Witch aunts got a Netflix show crossover

If you grew up with ABC’s Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, then you know that Netflix’s darker, horror-tinged Chilling Adventures of Sabrina doesn’t quite have the same happy-go-lucky vibe of the sitcom.

So what happens when the original live-action TV Zelda and Hilda — as played by my queens Beth Broderick and Caroline Rhea, respectively — meet Kiernan Shipka’s antiheroine take on Sabrina? Some deliciously hilarious misunderstandings!

Unlike the gritty, dark Netflix Sabrina, the sitcom was more in line with the Archie Comics version — a fun, magical slice-of-life show, where Sabrina’s magical antics usually meant plotlines like accidentally turning the popular girl in school into a pineapple versus, like, trying to trap Satan in a flesh prison. The little things. The show starred Melissa Joan Hart as Sabrina and ran from 1996 to 2003.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, meanwhile, gets one last season premiering on Dec. 31, wherein Sabrina and her friends face an evil that could undo reality!

In the meantime, sate your Sabrina needs with Sabrina, the Teenage Witch reruns on Hulu.
